I’ll be at Rose City Comic Con this weekend in Portland, OR! Come by and see me tabling at R-11 on Saturday. I’ll also be doing these events:

Hey Southern California people! Come out to Central Coast Comic Con in Ventura, CA today. I’ll be performing at their after party tonight at Bombay’s, Doors at 9pm. $5 donation to charity for entry (or free with VIP Con Badge). Come by and say hi!
Listener Jemal emailed and asked me if I would do a Lumberjanes song. Being that I had read Lumberjanes, and that it’s a really good comic, I was like, “Sure!” See? It’s that easy to have your dreams come true.
It’s weird, I’ve had such a busy summer with work, touring, moving and getting settled into a new city - I’ve fallen insanely behind on a lot of comics (except X-Men, still caught up with that. Mystique? Really, Chuck?). So in a weird way, I’ve found it easier to follow non-big-Two books that have their own contained stories. Things like Lumberjanes, where you can follow a single title that has a vision by one creative team and isn’t bogged down by decades of canon to follow.
Anyway, that’s a tangent. The point is that if you like Gravity Falls and summer camp scary stories and good comics, you should definitely read Lumberjanes, from Boom by Noelle Stevenson and Grace Ellis (art by Brooke Allen). It’s a great title, and one that you can hand to even younger readers and feel good about. For more information, check out Boom’s page on the comic.
Also, this Saturday I’ll be at Bombay’s in Ventura, CA performing at the official Central Coast Comic Con after party. Doors at 9m $5 donation to get in! More info here. Next week, Rose City Comic Con.
On October 18, I’ll be doing a 24 Hour Rap-A-Thon! 24 hours of me writing, recording and posting as many songs as I can. Pledge a per-song (optional cap) or lump sum donation by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. A portion of proceeds will go to benefit RAINN.org, to fight sexual assault. Last time I did this, I made sixteen songs in a day. Can I beat it?
This weekend I’ll be at Central Coast Comic Con in Ventura, CA! On Saturday, I’ll be performing at their official after party at Bombay’s, free with a VIP badge or $5 at the door donation for charity. More info here.
So uh, I accidentally lost the previous mission statement post in an editing/computer/internet mishap, but here’s some updates from the past week at adamwarrock.com
[24 Hour Rap-A-Thon] October 18, I’ll be doing the 2nd 24 Hour Rap-A-Thon. To summarize, it’s where I wake up, and for 24 hours straight, I try to write, record and post as many songs as possible (last time I made 16). If you want to pledge a per-song amount or a lump-sum amount, email it to email@example.com (you can also set a maximum donation amount with your pledge). This time, a portion of the proceeds will go to RAINN.org, the nation’s largest anti-sexual assault organization. Help support indie music and do some good in the process. More info.
[West Coast Shows] I’ll be at Bombay’s in Ventura, CA on Sept 13 performing at the official afterparty for Central Coast Comic Con (where I’ll also be tabling). More info.
I’ll be at Rose City Comic Con, headlining and DJing the Oni Press Party (by invitation only) on Sept 19, as well as tabling at Rose City Comic Con during the weekend. More info.
I’ll have CDs and the new GOTG tshirts and free stickers, so come by and say hi. More free music coming next week. Everyone have a good weekend.
Check out the official RAINN.org announcement on my Rap-A-Thon, October 18!
Thanks to everyone who’s already supported, promoted, or pledged to my second 24 Hour Rap-A-Thon, this time with a portion of the proceeds going to RAINN. For more information, go here, and find out how to support.
Otherwise, stay tuned as on October 18, 2014 I’ll be writing, recording and releasing as many songs as I can for 24 hours straight!
Also, I’ll be at Central Coast Comic Con in Ventura, CA & Rose City Comic Con in Portland, OR over the next few weeks, doing shows and tabling. If you’re around, come say hi. Details on those shows to be posted soon.
I’m very excited to announce the second Adam WarRock 24 Rap-A-Thon! I could not be more honored to be doing this Rap-A-Thon to benefit not only adamwarrock.com, but also to benefit RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual assault organization.
It’s always been my hope that this site and everything that happens on it would be for some kind of good, and after the success of last the Rap-A-Thon where your donations helped raise thousands of dollars to replace stolen equipment, as well as benefit RAINN – I wanted to try it again, this time in a bit of a more official capacity. So from the get-go, I will be raising money not only to, uh, live but also to benefit RAINN directly!
How does the Rap-A-Thon work?
Last year, I made 16 songs in a 24 hour period. That’s right. SIXTEEN. That’s me finding a beat, writing the song, recording it, processing it and posting it live. We raised almost $8,000.00 last time, and all the excess proceeds raised after replacing my stolen equipment was donated directly to RAINN, to a cause that I feel pretty strongly about.
Every 2 minutes, somewhere in America, someone is sexually assaulted.
1 in 6 U.S. women are victims of sexual assault, and 1 in 33 men.
About 44% of rape victims are under age 18, and 80% are under age 30.
College-aged women are 4 times more likely to be the victim of sexual assault.
6 out of every 10 sexual assaults are not reported to the police.
About 2/3 of all rapes are committed by someone who is known to the victim.
This, in addition to the pervasive rape culture that continually shows up in comics, in television, in movies — all the while having people incredibly close to me, loved ones who are survivors of sexual abuse and assault.
I wanted to do another Rap-A-Thon, and this time, I wanted to do something that meant something more than just buying a new computer. So hopefully you’ll pledge and be here on October 18 to see if I can break my last record of sixteen songs in 24 hours, and let’s try to do some good in the process.
